With over 5,000 players in NBA history, at least one player was born on every day of the calendar year – including three leap day ballers. Our day-by-day breakdown of the players born on each day of the year continues.
Below are the most notable NBA players born on Oct 26.
Monta Ellis (1985): Ellis was taken in the second round of the 2005 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors and set the foundation for that dynasty despite not winning with them. He spent his first seven seasons in Golden State, winning Most Improved Player in his second season in 2006. From 2006-15, Ellis averaged 20.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He spent two seasons each with the Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks and Indiana Pacers to close out his career.
Joe Fulks (1921): Jumpin’ Joe was one of the best players during the 1940s and 50s. The power forward started his career by playing for the Philadelphia Warriors in the BAA and continued to play for them when they switched to the NBA in 1949. He made an All-Star team in two of his first three seasons in the NBA, averaging 19.6 points through his 6-year NBA career. He also averaged 23 shots per game as the primary playmaker for the Warriors. Fulks retired in 1954 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1978.
