1890's Bridgton House hotel small plate-Frank Gibbs-Maine-made in Germany

Description

This cute little commemorative porcelain plate is for the Bridgton House Hotel in Bridgton, Maine.  Measuring 5 1/2" in diameter, it depicts the hotel on the front and says "Made in Germany for Frank Gibbs of Bridgton, Maine" on the back.  Frank Gibbs had a store in the town.  We date it between 1896 when the hotel burned (as it says on the front) and 1899 when it was rebuilt and looked totally different.  No chips or cracks but on the back you can see two light tiny spider veins.  We bought this when we used to live in North Bridgton, Maine and have had it for 30+ years.
