These hand painted porcelain plates were made for the Forbes collection by Chelsea House in honor of Malcom Forbes who had a large fascination with airships (hot air balloons) and aeronauts. The gothic Victorian (or steampunk) take on the subject matter is executed beautifully!
The taboo aspects, the colors, the painting and creativity, make these gorgeous pieces for a truly eclectic collector.
It’s hard to say goodbye to these very unique decorative plates!
There are some minor surface scratches in couple of the areas so please examine pictures carefully… Nothing too obvious and nothing that takes away from their beauty but please let me know if you have any further questions.
