    Vintage? ZEBRA mug made in Japan for Takahashi San Francisco. The zebra faces you if you are holding the mug with your right hand... the rest of the mug is covered with zebra shaped stripes interlaced with gilt ones. The portrait of the zebra's face is very precise - from the pattern of stripes , the artist must have been viewing Burchell's zebra

    . The mug is lovely (well, my opinion, and I hope yours as well) . Because of the gold metallic stripes , I wouldn't put this in a microwave.
